Friends of Belsize Book Talk: The King's Cross Fraudster

  • 18 Jun 2014
  • 7:15 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Belsize Community Library, Antrim Grove, London NW3 4XN

On Wednesday 18th June, there will be a talk at Belsize Community Library on the Life and Times of Leopold Redpath-also known as The King's Cross Fraudster.

The King's Cross Fraudster is the latest Camden History Society publication, by David Hayes and Marian Kamlish.  The book explores the life of one of the greatest embezzlers of the 19th Century-from Redpath's poverty-stricken childhood, his years of posing as a wealthy philanthropist and art collector through to his conviction and subsequent transportation to Australia.

Following the talk, there will be a presentation about OurCamden, what we are all about and what we are doing.  Come down to say hello, ask questions and find out more.

There is a donation of £3, which includes light refreshments.

Come along to this fascinating talk.
